Early this morning a water main break occurred in downtown Kannapolis on First Street near the Gem Theatre. This is one of the oldest waterlines in the City. Kannapolis Public Works Department crews are working to repair the line. On Tuesday, March 12, the Kannapolis Fire Department welcomed seven new firefighters to its ranks. The new recruits completed four months of fire, rescue and medical training prior to officially joining the department.
