Six new police officers, Cameron Blackwelder, Gabriel Chandler, Xavier Gonzalez, Ethan Ratliff, Thomas Skinner, and Eric Velazquez have joined the Kannapolis Police Department. They have been assigned to patrol squads and will receive additional training by experienced Kannapolis police officer mentors. All graduated from Basic Law Enforcement Training at Rowan Cabarrus Community College.  

Cameron Blackwelder is a graduate of Concord High School. He is married to Emily and is the son of Chris and Michelle Blackwelder. 

Gabriel Chandler graduated from Atlantic City High School and received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Nyack College in New York. He is married to Jayleen and they have two sons, James and Jeremiah. 

Xavier Gonzalez is a graduate of East Beverly High School in California. He and his girlfriend, Patricia, have two children, Genesis and Damian. 

Ethan Ratliff is a graduate of Cox Mill High School. He is the son of James and Nancy Ratliff of Concord, NC. 

Thomas Skinner is a graduate of Liberty University Online High School. He is the son of Tod and Sonya Skinner of Oakboro, NC. 

Eric Velazquez is a graduate of Ashbrook High School. He is the son of Saul and Iris.
