Due to winter storm impacts, Cabarrus County has declared a State of Emergency and activated one emergency shelter.

LOCATION:
Concord Active Living Center
(formerly Concord Senior Center)
331 Corban Ave. SE, Concord
OPENS AT 11 P.M.

ADMISSION:
• Visitors should enter the facility at the main entrance on the far-right side of the property
• First come, first served
• Limited space available

WHAT TO BRING:
• Cellphone and charger
• Necessary or required medications
• Items brought to the shelter should be minimal, limited space is available
• Consider bringing limited non-perishable food if you or a family member has a specific dietary restriction
• Limited small activity items for children if they are accompanying you to the shelter 

PETS:
• Only cats and dogs accepted
• Pets will be housed on-site in the CAST trailer
• Pets are not permitted inside the building

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• No shower facilities available
• Meals will be provided; food options will be limited

TRANSPORTATION
At this time, individuals must provide their own transportation to the shelter. Continue to monitor official Cabarrus County channels for updates. 

INFORMATION HOTLINE
Earlier today, County officials activated an information hotline to provide updates to the community. Residents can call 704-920-COLD (2653) to hear recorded messages with information about shelters and other storm-related matters. The line will be updated as new developments occur.If you are experiencing an immediate emergency, please call 911. Do not call 911 to report power outages - report it to your power provider. Residents are encouraged to continue calling 704-920-COLD for the most up-to-date information.
