The Boil Water Notice remains in effect for the City of Kannapolis. Flushing of the water lines in the City is now completed. Samples of water from around the City are continuing to be analyzed to ensure there are no longer any contaminants. Samples must be reviewed by laboratory staff at the local and state level at various time intervals.
We will notify the public when we receive approval from the state to lift the boil water notice. At this point we do not have a timeline for when the notice will be lifted.
There are a few areas of the City where the water you use comes from the City of Concord. These areas have now been determined to have safe water, and you may use your water without boiling it effective immediately. Please see the map at www.kannapolisnc.gov/news to determine if you are in these areas.
Kannapolis residents, still impacted by the Boil Water Notice, will be able to receive free bottles of water today, April 25, at 1401 Bethpage Road beginning at 9 a.m.
