Since 2000 the Kannapolis Police Department has been recognized as an accedited law enforcement agency. In order to achieve this national designation the department meets stringent standards. One of the standards includes going through a reaccreditation process every three years. The department is now applying for reaccreditation. The City of Kannapolis hosted a public unveiling of the draft of the City’s new 2030 comprehensive plan, Move Kannapolis Forward.
