Kansas City Barbeque judges spent Saturday very carefully judging 60 teams from six states who competed in the categories of chicken, ribs, pork and brisket at the Jiggy with the Piggy Festival in Kannapolis. 100 judges also from six states chose the winners based on taste, appearance and tenderness. The steel framework for the Kannapolis Sports and Entertainment Venue is going up. This structure at the ballfield will house the meeting/conference space, suites, and concessions. Located in downtown Kannapolis, this will be the home of our minor league baseball team. Construction will be completed in time of the start of the 2020 baseball season.

The City of Kannapolis offices will be closed Friday, April 19, in observance of the Easter Holiday. Offices will reopen on Monday, April 22. Garbage and recycling services will operate on a regular schedule. There will be no yard debris collection on Friday. It will be collected on its regular schedule the following week.
