Four new officers have joined the Kannapolis Police Department. The officers have completed their basic law enforcement training and are now starting their field training. The City of Kannapolis Parks and Recreation Department has opened registration for Youth Baseball, Softball and Soccer. Registration closes March 6.   Youth Baseball and Softball Children must be between the ages of 5-15 as of May 1. The registration fee is $40 for Kannapolis residents and $60 for non-residents, which includes the cost of uniforms, practices, and games. Scholarships and sponsorships are available. Rider Transit service is CANCELED today. Rider service will resume at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday,  January 23. Friday's garbage route collection delayed until Monday.  City staff have been busy as the weather produced snow-covered roads throughout the area.
