The Kannapolis Fire Department will once again host a Fire Truck Parade as part of their Fire Safety Festival, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday, September 29. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. The route will be along Laureate Way and N. Research Campus Drive, between City Hall and the North Carolina Research Campus. Each year hundreds of volunteers in the community make sure the Jiggy with the Piggy Festival is a huge success. Volunteers include members of four charitable organizations in the City. 9 a.m., Monday, September 17, 2018  All roadways have reopened. Garbage/Recycling is on a one day delay. Safrit Park and the Rocky River Greenway will remain closed until further notice. Based on the most recent weather forecasts we expect to receive significant rainfall and wind gusts over the duration of the event.
