We are excited to announce several races this Fall as part of the Run Kannapolis 5K Series. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in this unique series featuring the best 5K runs/walks in the city. Each run is held in Kannapolis and hosted by a nonprofit that benefits from the entry fees. All of the runs will include a one-mile fun run. Pam Phifer is retiring after 34 years of dedicated service to the City of Kannapolis. Pam has worked in multiple positions for the City, including as a water meter reader, administrative assistant for public works, and water meter technician. She currently serves as a customer service advocate. Through these positions she has become a fixture in the City. Municipal and County real estate and personal property tax bills are being mailed beginning July 20, and officials are reminding property owners of the MyCabCo payment option, which now features the ability to register for paperless billing.   Tax bills go to property owners listed on tax records as of Jan. 1, 2022. The Kannapolis City Council recently approved $56,000 for its 2022-2023 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) fund allocation. We are sad to announce that Sammy Kershaw has Covid-19 and unfortunately, is unable to perform in Kannapolis this Friday, July 15.
