The Kannapolis Farmers Market will open Thursday, May 2, in time for you to enjoy an abundance of ripe strawberries, lettuce, berries, and asparagus. Linder Industrial Machinery has opened a new, state-of-the-art facility located at 5733 Davidson Hwy in Kannapolis. In collaboration with the Cabarrus Chamber of Commerce and the City of Kannapolis, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held this morning, Thursday, April 18. The steel framework for the Kannapolis Sports and Entertainment Venue is going up. This structure at the ballfield will house the meeting/conference space, suites, and concessions. Located in downtown Kannapolis, this will be the home of our minor league baseball team. Construction will be completed in time of the start of the 2020 baseball season.

The City of Kannapolis offices will be closed Friday, April 19, in observance of the Easter Holiday. Offices will reopen on Monday, April 22. Garbage and recycling services will operate on a regular schedule. There will be no yard debris collection on Friday. It will be collected on its regular schedule the following week.

As warmer weather approaches, the Village Park Rotary Express and Carousel will operate on a limited schedule. The train and carousel will be open from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. every Saturday and noon-6 p.m. every Sunday beginning this weekend, April 13.
