The City of Kannapolis will continue its Summer Concert and Movie Series with two concerts over the next two weekends. Plain White T’s  will perform at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 31 at Village Park. The City of Kannapolis has reached an agreement which will bring more development to West Avenue. The City will provide three parcels of property to Right Field Development, LLC as an investment incentive. The land has an appraised value of $1,668,442. In return, Right Field Development, LLC will develop the parcels into apartments, restaurants, retail stores, condominiums and possibly a hotel. N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will close Tuckaseegee Road between Plum Road and Pagemount Road on Monday morning, Aug. 2, weather permitting.   The closure is necessary for crews to replace a triple barrel culvert under the road at Mill Creek. The Kannapolis City Council has approved the Fiscal Year 2022 budget. The approved budget is $85,250,848 and includes all six operating funds of the City. The budget includes no property tax increase.   However, there is a $2.50 per month environmental fee increase.
