Kannapolis City Manager Mike Legg presented the recommended Fiscal Year 2021 budget to the Kannapolis City Council Tuesday evening. The recommended budget is $79,927,940 which includes all seven operating funds of the City. The budget includes no property tax increase and no increases in utility fees. All City of Kannapolis offices will be closed for business on Monday, May 25 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. The collection of white goods (appliances) and electronic waste will resume today, May 11. These services were suspended in March due to COVID-19 when Waste Management instituted stricter safety protocols for its employees. The City of Kannapolis has extended its application deadline for non-profits with programs that would qualify for its 2020-2021 Community Development Block Grant fund allocation. Funds are designated for activities that benefit low and moderate income residents in the city.
