The structure which will house Village Park’s new double decker carousel is underway. The structure will protect it from the weather – similar to the type of structure that protects the Rotary Express Train. Once the structure is complete the carousel will be installed. The company will move its East Coast Fresh Fruit Sales Division to the North Carolina Research Campus. The Department of Transportation is preparing to replace a bridge on Brantley Road over Lake Fisher in Kannapolis. Contractor crews cleared the area last week, and installed erosion control devices. Next, heavy equipment will be moved in to prepare for the demolition of the existing bridge structure and to install support piles for the new bridge. Beginning Monday, October 24, the City of Kannapolis will begin collection of loose leaves. The loose leaf collection service will continue until Friday, March 10, 2017. During the loose leaf collection period it is not necessary to bag leaves for them to be collected.
