Water Resources Supervisor Lisa Nabors is retiring from the City of Kannapolis after serving 37 years in the department. Lisa began working in water resources in 1986 as an employee of the Kannapolis Sanitary District – this was before Kannapolis was incorporated as a City. The district managed the water and sewer for the City as a part of the operations of Cannon Mills. A huge thank you to all of you who participated in our coat drive! We have collected almost 200 coats that will go to children in Kannapolis who need clothing to keep them warm this winter. A special thank you to the family of Max Shanks for their donation of 50 coats. Max, 7, was tragically killed in a car accident this summer. His family collected dozens of coats, mittens, scarves, socks, and hats in his memory and donated them to our coat drive as well as the Charlotte Rescue Mission. F...

Wow! We had over 100 children enter the Kannapolis Police Department’s Coloring Contest. Children between the ages of 4 and 10 were asked to color a copy of the uniform patch Kannapolis Police Officers wear. “I want to thank all the children who entered.
