All City of Kannapolis offices will be closed from Friday, December 22 until Tuesday, December 26, in observance of the Christmas holiday. Congrats to Assistant Fire Chief David Winecoff, who is retiring after 36 years of service to the citizens of Kannapolis. Chief Winecoff began his career in firefighting as a volunteer in 1987 with the Royal Oaks Fire Department, which became Fire Station 3 when the City was incorporated and started its professional fire service. While serving as a volunteer, he was also employed with the Concord Fire Department. He joined the Kannapolis Fire Department full time as a Battalion Chief in 2000....
