The City of Kannapolis has installed a Wayfinding System to aid residents and visitors as they navigate around and explore locations of interest within city limits. Current signage throughout the city needed to be replaced due to aging, use of the previous city logo, different colors and sizes. Exciting News for the North Carolina Research Campus - The General Assembly has approved $4.4 million which will be used to equip the Food Processing Innovation Center. All City of Kannapolis offices will be closed on Tuesday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. City offices will reopen on July 5. There will be no disruption in garbage and recycling collection service. All Kannapolis parks will be open regular operating hours from dawn until dusk. In Village Park, the Carousel, the Rotary Express and Splash Pad will be open regular hours, from Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6 p.m.

Kannapolis City Council approved the Fiscal Year 2018 budget on Monday evening. The FY 2018 budget is $68,125,000 which includes all seven operating funds of the City. The budget includes no property tax increase. The current tax rate will remain at .63 cents per $100 valuation - a home valued at $150,000 will pay $945 annually in property taxes for all city services.
