Update: Water service has been restored.
Some City of Concord and City of Kannapolis water customers in northwestern Cabarrus County are currently without water service while crews repair a water line damaged by private contractors earlier today. Affected Concord customers are located in the Cabarrus Crossing subdivision.

The City of Kannapolis has approved façade and site improvement grants to four local businesses on Main Street, Jackson Park Road, and Dale Earnhardt Boulevard.
City leaders have identified these areas as key business gateways. The façade and site improvement grants will benefit the City and property owners as everyone works together to maximize the appearance of the corridors and make Kannapolis a more attractive place to do business.

Officers from Kannapolis Police Department to mentor students from Forest Park Elementary School
Kannapolis, NC – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas has provided life-changing, one-to-one mentors for youth in Cabarrus County since 2004. In 2016-17, the agency placed and supported over 170 Cabarrus County children with a mentor.

It’s Fall which means it’s time for leaves to fall from trees. Beginning October 23 and running until March 9, the City collects loose leaves. At all other times of the year leaves must be bagged.

A Kannapolis Christmas will officially kick off at Village Park with the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m., Saturday, November 25. The Celebration continues through the Christmas Holiday seasons with the Celebration of Lights and Winterland Express.
