With over 250 walkers/runners, the Jiggy with the Piggy 5K was a huge success Thursday evening. We loved seeing all the participants in the Jiggiest Costume Contest. The Kannapolis Farmers Market will open for the 2024 season on Thursday, May 2. The market will be held every Thursday, 4-7 p.m. at the corner of Vance St. and Dale Earnhardt Blvd. The market continues through September. The Kannapolis Youth Council recently had the opportunity to give back to their community by helping other teens. Youth Council students, ranging from 9th-12th grade, collected toiletries for teens who live in a local orphanage. Items collected included toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, laundry detergent, deodorant, and toilet paper. The Kannapolis Police Department has selected the winners of their police badge coloring contest. Over 270 entries were received from Kannapolis children. Elementary school children were asked to submit a creative design by coloring a Police Department’s uniform patch.
