The City of Kannapolis is seeking vendors for the annual Jiggy with the Piggy event that will be held Friday, May 5 through Saturday, May 6, 2017. Sponsored by Smithfield, Jiggy with the Piggy has been a tradition for the past 37 years that includes vendors, entertainment, family-friendly activities, a BBQ competition, and more. The City of Kannapolis is hosting The Princess and Her King, a Daddy/Daughter Dance on Saturday, February 11 at the Laureate Center in Kannapolis City Hall. Each year hundreds of volunteers in the community help the City of Kannapolis make the Jiggy with the Piggy Festival a huge success. The volunteers include members of four charitable organizations in the City. Tuesday evening, the City of Kannapolis and Carolinas Healthcare System honored the 2016 Run Kannapolis participants during a special ceremony. This year 35 people completed all eight of the 5K walks/runs easily doubling the number of 15 people who completed all seven Run Kannapolis events in 2016.
