The Gem Theatre reopens to the public tonight. The opening night movie will be the premiere of IF, starring Ryan Reynolds. Each year during the Jiggy with the Piggy Festival, the teams participating in the Kansas City Barbeque Society competition also compete in a dessert contest. The City of Kannapolis is hosting a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21 at City Hall, 401 Laureate Way. Kansas City Barbeque judges spent Saturday and Sunday very carefully evaluating over 70 teams from 18 states who competed in the 10th Annual Jiggy with the Piggy Festival in Kannapolis.
