The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, are preparing to host the team’s first playoff game in nearly a decade as the South Atlantic League playoffs begin in September. The Intimidators, who reached the playoffs by winning the Northern Division First Half Championship, will host Game 2 on Friday, Sept. 8, and if necessary Game 3 on Saturday, Sept. 9, in the Best-of-3 Northern Division Series. We’ve added two more bicycle racks to the downtown. One is located near North Research Campus Drive at the Plants for Human Health Institute building. The other is in the parking lot of the NCRC Medical Plaza Building on Watson Crick Drive. Funding for the racks was provided by a grant from the North Carolina Rail Division to place secured bike racks in downtown Kannapolis. Two racks are already in place at the train station. The City of Kannapolis will sell the remaining parcel of property located in the Kannapolis Gateway Business Park near N.C. 73 to Elevation Acquisition and Development, LLC.
