The City of Kannapolis Parks and Recreation Department has opened registration for Youth T-Ball, Baseball, Softball and Soccer. Registration will close March 6. Youth T-Ball, Baseball, and Softball Children must be between the ages of 5-15 as of May 1. The City of Kannapolis recently honored the 2022 Run Kannapolis and Loop the Loop Challenge participants during a special ceremony. This year 16 people completed all seven of the 5K Run Kannapolis events! They received the designation of “BEAST”, commemorative Run Kannapolis medals and prizes during the ceremony. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade for Cabarrus County will be held in Kannapolis at 9 a.m. this Saturday, January 14. The parade will begin at the intersection of Main Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue and travel down Main Street to Laureate Way to Atrium Health Ballpark. Water Resources Supervisor Lisa Nabors is retiring from the City of Kannapolis after serving 37 years in the department. Lisa began working in water resources in 1986 as an employee of the Kannapolis Sanitary District – this was before Kannapolis was incorporated as a City.
