ATLANTA, Ga. (January 24, 2019) – The Southeast Tourism Society has named the City of Kannapolis’ Jiggy with a Piggy Festival, one of the STS Top 20 Events in the Southeast for May 2018.

Jiggy with the Piggy is an annual festival, sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. Over 60 teams from around the U.S. compete in a barbeque competition for top bragging honors and prizes. The three-day event includes fireworks, concerts, a children’s movie, a 5K, the Zucchini 600, over 100 artisans, and lots of fun for everyone. Proceeds from the festival benefit many of the City’s non-profits. Over 10,000 people celebrate what has become the kickoff to summer in Kannapolis.
