Today, officials from the City of Kannapolis and the Lansing Melbourne Group (LMG) broke ground on a mixed-use district which will bring apartments, a hotel, restaurants, a brewery, and retail space to downtown Kannapolis. Early this morning a water main break occurred in downtown Kannapolis on First Street near the Gem Theatre. This is one of the oldest waterlines in the City. Kannapolis Public Works Department crews are working to repair the line.
