The Kannapolis Police Department invites the community to attend its open house, from 5 to 8 p.m., on October 17, at Kannapolis City Hall and Police Headquarters, 401 Laureate Way. N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will soon start building a roundabout at the intersection of N.C. 3 and Odell School Road. The $990,000 project was awarded earlier this spring to NJR Group Inc. out of Albemarle.   The intersection is scheduled to close Monday morning so crews can safely build the roundabout. The City of Kannapolis Parks and Recreation Department has opened registration for Youth Basketball for children 3-15 years old. Registration is from September 12 - November 6. The registration fee is $40 for Kannapolis residents and $60 for non-residents, this includes the cost of uniforms, practices and games. Participants are required to have proper athletic shoes.
