This morning the Kannapolis Police Department participated in the N.C. State Special Olympics Torch Run.   Members of Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office, City of Concord Police Department, Cabarrus Fire Marshal’s Office, Concord Fire, and Cabarrus County EMS ran to the Kannapolis city limits on Cannon Boulevard.   Kannapolis officers and area Special Olympic athletes were then handed the Flame of Hope and ran with it to the Rowan County border. After careful consideration of the severe weather which is forecasted for Friday afternoon/evening we have decided to postpone Friday night’s festival events.
