Skills Evaluation & Player Draft

Currently, we plan to have skills assessments sometime between March 14-16. Final dates and times will be communicated via email and posted online once a final decision has been made. If no skills days can take place, then all players will be randomly assigned to teams.

All soccer participants playing in the 7-8 year old age group or older are required to attend skills assessments. If a child does not attend a skills assessment, then that child will be randomly assigned to a team at the player draft.

There are no skills assessments for the 3-4 or 5-6 year old age groups. All players in these age groups will be randomly assigned to teams.

Practices & Games

Coaches will contact players after team assignments between March 24-26. Please allow volunteer coaches time to contact each participant before contacting our office on March 27 for team information.

Practices for the 5-6 age group and above will begin the week of March 27. Teams will have one hour practices once a week.

Games will be played on Saturdays from April 15 through June 10.

Depending on schedules and field availability, some weeknight games may be necessary. Practices and games will be played at Kannapolis Parks–primarily Safrit Park– and Kannapolis City Schools. Nearby Cabarrus County schools or additional facilities may be utilized if registration numbers dictate that a particular division play countywide.

The Instructional 3-4 program will begin Saturday, April 15 and be held on Saturdays only. Instructional parents will be contacted the week of April 3 with team assignments and practice/game times.
