It is another great year to Discover Fun in Kannapolis. The City has announced its lineup of concerts, movies, special events, Intimidators Baseball and of course - fireworks for 2018. All movies and concerts are free to the public and will be held in downtown Kannapolis. Movies and concerts are held at Village Park and Veterans Park.

This week’s events are:

June- December 15:   First Knight Virtual 5K – Register at runkannapolis.com

The virtual run allows you to walk/run wherever and whenever you like (i.e. your neighborhood or around the Loop). Once you register, we will mail your medal to you.


June 21:  Thursdays on Main – Lunch (11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.) – The Boat Rockers will perform at Veterans Park. Food trucks will be on site.

The Boat Rockers offer a smaller footprint than most large bands, but still deliver the big entertainment experience that you are looking for. The Boat Rockers duo loves to entertain, and their extensive song list features some of the best Classic Rock and crowd-pleasing favorites of the last 60 years.


June 21:  Farmer’s Market (4 -7 p.m.) – corner of Dale Earnhardt Blvd. and Vance Ave.


June 22:    Movies in the Park (8:45 p.m.) – SING, Village Park

Free Admission. Children 18 & under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. No pets or smoking please.


June 23:   Stories Under the Stars (7 p.m.) – Columbia Marionette Theatre, Kannapolis Library

The Columbia Marionette Theatre delivers a peppy and funny interpretation of the classic story of Cinderella.
