The Kannapolis City Council has approved funding for aesthetic improvements along Main Street. In 2013 Council adopted a Corridor Appearance Improvement Program for Cannon Boulevard. The council is now extending the program to include Main Street.

Businesses are encouraged to participate by applying for funds to improve the appearance of their property. Eligible improvements include facades, landscaping, and planting of trees. If approved the City will give the business up to 50% of the project costs in matching grant funds. The deadline for applying for the grant is January 15, 2016.
