Sloop and GoodmanThe Kannapolis Fire Department welcomes two new members, Noah Goodman and Troy Sloop.

 

Noah is a native of Kannapolis and has three years of fire service experience. He is currently working towards his associates degree at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, with plans of pursuing a bachelor’s degree. In his free time, Goodman enjoys landscaping and working on cars.

 

Troy is a native of Mooresville. He has been a member of the fire service for 18 years and has served in different capacities such as Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) and Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team member. He was a member of the honor guard, as well as the pipes and drums band at his former department. Troy is married and has a daughter. During his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, and finding excuses to take trips in a Cessna 172 putting his pilot’s license to good use.

 

 “Becoming a firefighter with the City of Kannapolis Fire Department is a highly competitive process. Firefighters Goodman and Sloop rose to meet the challenge and are quickly becoming vital members of their companies and shifts. It is my pleasure to welcome them into our fire family,” stated Kannapolis Fire Chief Tracy Winecoff.

 

They are assigned to Engine 51 which runs out of Station #5 on Barr Road and covers the western portion of Kannapolis.
