Offering heavy construction equipment, parts and services, Linder Industrial Machinery started more than 65 years ago, and has found Kannapolis is a city that offers a strategic advantage for their company thanks to the location’s accessibility.

Linder, the largest Komatsu and Wirtgen construction equipment dealership in North America provides equipment &  services to the Construction Industry to assist in building North Carolina.

Originally located in uptown Charlotte, the space and logistic needs of the company had outgrown the confines of Graham Street, and  company leaders were looking for a better, more modern facility. They found it in Kannapolis.

With easy highway access to I-85 and I-73, and plenty of room to expand their business, Linder knew a Kannapolis location would be ideal for many reasons. “We see Kannapolis as a mini corporate hub. With 60 employees here now, we’re actually even looking to bring on additional team members," said Jim Trowbridge, Linder Regional VP/Western NC. Linder has grown to offer one of the widest selections of equipment in Florida and the Carolinas.

“The City of Kannapolis welcomed us with open arms—they were very open to bringing us in and trying to build a relationship with us from the beginning. In Charlotte, we’d be any other business. But here, the city wanted us here, is easy to work with, and invited us to be an active part of the community.”

Linder has benefitted from a deep talent pool to hire from, and they're even working with Rowan-Cabarrus Community College on a training program that could support their needs and create local jobs at the same time. The area has helped provide them with advanced, skilled service personnel, technical support and training department teams that they believe are the best in the industry.

“The central location is ideal to service the needs of the developers fueling all the growth in the area. (Our customers.) We love seeing the growth in downtown Kannapolis! But also, our people live in this area, with probably about half of them moving down here from northern states—and they all love it. Many are into all the outdoor lifestyle (lakes, hunting, fishing, etc.) that drive the lifestyle here. You can also get down to the airport, or Charlotte and all it has to offer, if you want that kind of thing. They just love living in the small town feel of Kannapolis.”
