Yoga for youth - Flexibility, concentration, and creativity are all a part of this hour-long program.
Bring your mat and bottle of water and get ready for fun!
Join us once or twice per week, depending on your schedule and attend as many as you would like!

Join us at the Laureate Center for an evening of entertainment and fun. This program is designed for boys ages five (5) & up to be accompanied by his mom, step-mom, grandma, big sister, aunt, or special lady.
Dress anywhere from superhero in full costume or t-shirt to as mild mannered as Clark Kent in your casual wear.
Enjoy and be comfortable and you will have a fabulous time! Please register EACH mother/son attending so we have an accurate RSVP.

The Parks and Recreation Department occasionally offers trip opportunities for adults. Trips are for adults 18 and older unless otherwise noted. Trips sometimes have potential to last longer and/or end earlier than expected. Many trips may have a lot of walking so please wear comfortable shoes. Shatley Springs has served as a landmark destination for many decades. Travelers come to enjoy the country cooking, the famous spring water, and the beautiful mountain scenery. After lunch we will go downtown West Jefferson and spend the afternoon walking around the Old Time Antiques and Collectible Fair.

The Sarah P. Duke Gardens is a 55 acre public botanic garden on the campus of Duke University. It is considered to be one of the top ten public gardens in the United States. A trolley tour will guide us through the central path of the gardens as we learn more about the blooms of the day and the gardens history.

Towering almost 6,000 feet, this massive mountain presents visitors with the region's premier and most ecologically diverse nature preserve. At this sanctuary known for the 360 degree views from the Mile High Swinging Bridge, guests can come eye to eye with bears, cougars, otters, a bald eagle, and deer in natural habitats, learn about the natural world from knowledgeable guides, stroll gentle nature paths or hike craggy alpine trails.
