The Kannapolis Finance Department administers the City’s financial affairs. The department works diligently to keep the City in compliance with all federal and state laws. The Finance Department continually wins the highest awards for financial reporting and budget presentation from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada each year. They represent the City’s financial matters and provide the following services and information:

Q. Is a W-9 required to do business with the City?
A. Yes, it is a requirement to received payment; W-9 form

Q. How often are invoices paid?
A. On Friday of every week.

Q. Can I pick up my check?
A. No, City policy requires Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).

Q. Is Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) required to do business with the City?
A. Yes, you may complete the Authorization for Electronic Funds Transfer form and send it to Accounts Payable by fax at (704) 938-5919, email it to the Accounts Payable staff  or regular mail at the address listed on the form. See the Authorization form for more details.  If EFT is not used the City will charge a processing fee of $10 per check.

Q. When can I expect payment?
A. Invoices are paid according to the terms stated on the vendor invoice. If terms are not stated on the invoice, we assume terms of net 30 days.

Q. What is the best method to send invoices to the City?
A. We would prefer an email to ap@kannapolisnc.gov. However, If you email invoices please do not mail a paper copy to the address above. We will not accepts invoices to any other email address.

Property Taxes
