The City of Kannapolis will soon begin construction on the West Avenue Streetscape and Infrastructure Project. This work is the first component of the Kannapolis Downtown Revitalization Plan.

Construction will be overseen by Barton Malow and will begin in early 2018.

While the most visible piece of the project is the streetscape, the most important and complex part of the project is the infrastructure. Everything from water, sewer, natural gas, electricity, stormwater, wi-fi, other technologies and more are included in the scope of the work which is to be constructed/replaced.

Contractors who are interested in participating in the project are invited to a meeting which will be held from 10-11:30 a.m., August 22, at Kannapolis City Hall, 401 Laureate Way.

Tradespeople who are experienced in infrastructure utilities, asphalt paving, site demolition, curb & gutter, concrete, unit masonry, water features, hardscape pavers, electrical systems, low voltage systems, landscaping and irrigation, carpentry, miscellaneous metals, general trades, etc. should attend the meeting.

Minority owned and women owned businesses are encouraged to attend.
