It is another great year to Discover Fun in Kannapolis. The City has announced its lineup of concerts, movies, special events, Intimidators Baseball and of course - fireworks for 2018. All movies and concerts are free to the public and will be held in downtown Kannapolis. Movies and concerts are held at Village Park and Veterans Park.

This week’s events are:

June- December 15-First Knight Virtual 5K – Register at runkannapolis.com
The virtual run allows you to walk/run wherever and whenever you like (i.e. your neighborhood or around the Loop). Once you register, we will mail your medal to you.

July 23-29-Kannapolis Intimidators Home Game (7:05 p.m.)

Fireworks will follow the July 28 game.

July 25-Children’s Theatre: Old MacDonald Sing Along (10 a.m.) – Veterans Park

This is a special Wednesday Summer Event Join Old Farmer MacDonald, his wife Mrs. MacDonald and all your favorite friends from the farm for a fun and energetic sing-along that brings everyone together. This fun interactive show has a strong character message of sharing and caring for others.

July 26-Farmer’s Market (4 -7 p.m.) – corner of Dale Earnhardt Blvd. and Vance Ave.

July 28-Concerts in the Park (7 p.m.) – Too Much Sylvia, Village Park
Continuing in their long tradition of offering the most variety of music, Too Much Sylvia, offers every category and style of music from their versatile list of over 200 songs. With the desire to please and play something that everyone will enjoy, their fun, contagious personalities will touch everyone.

Blankets, lawn chairs and picnics/coolers are permitted and concessions will be available.

Please NO pets, tobacco, grilling, glass bottles or outside alcohol brought in. Coolers will be checked at several entry points. The Beer and Wine tent will be open during concerts for alcohol sales, ID is required.

Parking for all events will be available at the outer parking lots along Dale Earnhardt Blvd. and down West C Street (overflow near the YMCA/Library). During concerts, the Village Park parking lot will be reserved for handicap parking only (valid handicap placard or license plate required).

Free Admission. Children 18 & under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. No pets or smoking please.
