Discover Fun in Kannapolis this year with great concerts, movies, festivals, children’s activities and of course, fireworks. Events are held from April to August.
Headlining an awesome year of great music in Kannapolis will be:
Loverboy, Clay Walker, Starship featuring Mickey Thomas, The Commodores
and the Charlotte Symphony.
But first, the entertainment series gets off to a great start with the return of the Sunday afternoon Jazz Music concerts in April and May. The Dwayne Jordan Trio, Nicci Canada, Brad Burton Trio, and the Booker Wilson Band will bring the wonderful relaxing sounds of jazz to Veterans Park.
Jiggy with the Piggy Festival is the week of May 1. The festival features 70 barbeque teams competing in a competition at the North Carolina Research Campus sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. Over 100 art and craft vendors, barbeque and more. The festival includes a special Friday night concert headlined by
The New Familiars.
More great music is planned for the event with concerts by the

The fun continues with the
Concert and Movie Series, sponsored by Hilbish Ford, featuring
Loverboy on June 2,
Clay Walker on June 16,
Starship, featuring Mickey Thomas on July 14 and the
Commodores on August 11. The concert series also includes a diverse mix of musical genres such as the ever popular
Charlotte Symphony performance June 29; and
Too Much Sylvia on July 28.
From May to August join us for lunch and dinner for
Thursdays on Main with performances by
Sound Barrier, The Randy Clay Band, Nita B Shiloh Hill, Diamond Shaped Daylight, The Boat Rockers, The Embers, Band of Oz, Jim Quick and Coastline, and Tim Clark Band.
Family
Movies in the Park are every other Friday night at Village Park and this year include:
Cars 3, Beauty and the Beast, Sing, Airplane, Coco and Moana.
Stories Under the Stars returns this year to the Kannapolis Library. These special children’s events include the Flow Circus, Poetry Alive, Columbia Marionette Theatre, Steve Langley and Green Room Community Theatre.
Two additional special events for children include the Old McDonald’s Sing Along and Chicken Little by the Children’s Theatre held in conjunction with the Rowan Arts & Ag Celebration.
The Kaleidoscope Harvest Festival returns in November with new activities. The festival will be the culminating event of the Rowan Arts & Ag Celebration. This event will feature the Salisbury Symphony and local artisans such as painters, jewelry makers, and woodcarvers. We will celebrate the rich culture of agriculture with local breweries, wineries and goods from farmers.
Other events in Kannapolis to enjoy in 2018 include the

All events are free to the public and held in downtown Kannapolis.
