Beginning September 14 the Kannapolis City Council will hold work session meetings the second Monday of every month at 6 pm. The September, October and November work sessions will be held at the Public Works Facility on Bethpage Road.
Currently, the City Council meets the second and fourth Mondays of every month to discuss and vote on issues pertaining to City business. The second Monday meetings will be dedicated to work session topics and the fourth Monday meetings will be regular agenda meetings with items such as public hearings, public comment periods and votes items pertaining to the business of the City. During the work session meetings there will be no public input or comment periods. Council will spend their time during the work session meetings receiving in-depth information on various topics, discussing policy and giving staff direction on items pertaining to the city.
The fourth Monday meetings will continue to be held at 6 pm at the Kannapolis Train Station on N. Main St. Beginning in December all regular council meetings will be held at the new City Hall and Police Headquarters located at 401 Laureate Way.
