The City of Kannapolis offices will be closed Thursday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day. Offices will reopen on November 12. The Kannapolis Police Department recently presented awards to four members of the department. Officers Brandon Crowe and Gasper Ruiz, Jr. received Police Stars, the second highest honor any officer can receive. The Kannapolis City Council recently approved $190,725 in non-profit grants for 13 local organizations.  The funds are to be used for preparing, preventing and responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. Leo Pope has been promoted to Operations Manager of the City of Kannapolis’ Transportation Division. As Operations Manager, Leo is now responsible for fleet maintenance, sign maintenance, asphalt repairs, street resurfacing and preventative maintenance of city streets as well as snow and ice removal during winter weather events.
