A huge thank you to all of you who participated in our coat drive! We have collected almost 200 coats that will go to children in Kannapolis who need clothing to keep them warm this winter. A special thank you to the family of Max Shanks for their donation of 50 coats. Max, 7, was tragically killed in a car accident this summer. Wow! We had over 100 children enter the Kannapolis Police Department’s Coloring Contest. Children between the ages of 4 and 10 were asked to color a copy of the uniform patch Kannapolis Police Officers wear. “I want to thank all the children who entered. Last week Kannapolis Police officers were busy with their Annual Cops Target Kids Event. Over 60 children, aged preschool to high school, from the community, were treated to a day of shopping with police officers, lunch with Santa, and a ride in a patrol car. “We look forward to this event all year long. Boil Water Advisory Rescinded December 10, 2022 8 p.m.   KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – The Boil Water Advisory has been rescinded in Kannapolis for the Cannon Boulevard (Eddleman Road and Tennessee Street areas). Repairs to the water main are complete. All water tests are negative which means there are no problems with the water supply in Kannapolis. Therefore, no advisories are in effect. Customers do not need to boil their water.

This morning a water main break occurred at Cannon Boulevard and Kansas Street. Several blocks in the immediate area are without water at this point.  The affected area is on the east side of Cannon Boulevard between Eddleman Road and Tennessee Street.    Kannapolis Water Resources Department crews are working to repair the line as quickly as possible.
