After 24 years with the Kannapolis Police Department, Det. Timothy Roth has retired. “Tim had all the great qualities it took to be a great police officer,” said Chief Woody Chavis. “He is compassionate, loyal, dedicated, determined, hardworking, and he has a heart of gold. The Kannapolis Fire Department will once again host a Fire Truck Parade as part of their Fire Safety Festival, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday, September 29. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. The route will be along Laureate Way and N. Research Campus Drive, between City Hall and the North Carolina Research Campus. As of July 1, residents in the cities of Concord and Kannapolis, and the unincorporated areas of Cabarrus County have access to a new waste collection calendar and reminder system.
