A Kannapolis Christmas

The Celebration of Lights will officially kick off at Village Park with the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. The Celebration then continues all month long with Celebration of Lights and Winterland Express.

The Tree Lighting will be the start of the 2016 Celebration of Lights in Kannapolis. The Celebration of Lights boasts more than 250,000 lights. The Park is lit and the train will run every evening from Saturday, November 26th - December 30th (closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day). The Winterland Express will also be running to take riders through the lights at the park from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Sunday – Thursday and from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Admission to the park and viewing of the lights is free; tickets to ride the train are $2.00.

Again this year kids of all ages will be able to visit Santa in his studio each night. Special appearances from Mrs. Claus are also scheduled on various nights. She will be reading short stories to kids of all ages. The park will also feature performances from our very own Kannapolis Singing Bears, who will entertain the young and young at heart with a 30 minute Christmas Carol performance each hour on the hour beginning at 6 p.m. each evening. Also, we have added performances from strolling on select nights.

Note: The Celebration of Lights and Winterland Express Train may be closed due to inclement weather. Please call 704-920-4343 for up to date information.
