The Kannapolis Fire Department welcomes four new firefighters to their team. All four firefighters were previously part of the department’s part time Reserve Program. Beginning September 14 the Kannapolis City Council will hold work session meetings the second Monday of every month at 6 pm. The September, October and November work sessions will be held at the Public Works Facility on Bethpage Road. Currently, the City Council meets the second and fourth Mondays of every month to discuss and vote on issues pertaining to City business. The Kannapolis Fire Department recently competed in a statewide Haz Mat Challenge as part of the South Atlantic Fire Rescue Expo. This was the first year Kannapolis has participated in the event. During the regularly scheduled meeting of the Kannapolis City Council Monday the council members approved a contract to hire a property management firm, NAI Southern Real Estate, for the downtown properties.
