The Kannapolis City Council has approved the FY 2020 budget. The FY 2020 budget is $75,513,726 which includes all seven operating funds of the City. The budget includes no property tax increase. The current tax rate will remain at .63 cents per $100 valuation - a home valued at $150,000 will pay $945 annually in property taxes for all City services. All City of Kannapolis offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. There will be no disruption in garbage and recycling collection service; however, there will be no collection of yard debris. City offices will reopen at 8 a.m., Friday, July 5. The Kannapolis Fire Department dedicated Fire Station #3 today with a fire hose uncoupling ceremony and public tours of the facility located on Concord Lake Road.
