All City of Kannapolis offices will be closed on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25 in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday. There will be no garbage/recycling/loose leaf collection service on Thanksgiving Day. We will operate on a one day delay - (Thursday’s route will be collected on Friday and Friday’s route will be collected on Saturday).

A Kannapolis Christmas will officially kick off at Village Park with the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m., Saturday, November 26. The Celebration continues all month long with the Celebration of Lights and Winterland Express. The City of Kannapolis has approved an amended economic development incentive grant to ISE Enterprises, Inc. for investment in a 40,000 square foot facility at 5885 Davidson Highway. The company has been in Kannapolis since 2004. In July 2016, an incentive grant had been approved for a 30,000 square foot facility at 840 Biscayne Drive. The Kannapolis City Council approved incentives for Linder Industrial Machinery on Monday night. Linder Industrial Machinery will locate a regional headquarters on property they have purchased at 5733 and 5625 Davidson Highway. The company sells earth moving and paving equipment. The incentives will total $37,500. In exchange, Linder will build a 39,000 square foot facility with a total investment of $7.6 million, over the next five years.
