It is another great year to Discover Fun in Kannapolis. The City has announced its lineup of concerts, movies, special events, Intimidators Baseball and of course - fireworks for 2018. All movies and concerts are free to the public and will be held in downtown Kannapolis. Movies and concerts are held at Village Park and Veterans Park.

This week’s events are:

June 1- December First Knight Virtual 5K – Register at runkannapolis.com

The virtual run allows you to walk/run wherever and whenever you like (i.e. your neighborhood or around the Loop). Once you register, we will mail your medal to you.

June 11 – 16 Kannapolis Intimidators Home Game (7:05 p.m.)

Fireworks will follow the June 16 game.

June 17 Father’s Day – Take dad out to the ballpark

June 14 Thursdays on Main – Lunch (11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.) – Diamond Shaped Daylight will perform at Veterans Park. Food trucks will be on site.

Longtime friends Buddy Martin & Chad Gibson have joined to form Diamond Shaped Daylight, an acoustic Rock-n-Roll show combining guitar, bass and vocal harmonies.


Thursdays on Main – Dinner (6 – 8 p.m.) – Tim Clark Band will perform at Veterans Park. Food trucks will be on site.

Since their inception, The Tim Clark Band has been wowing audiences wherever they appear. Not only did they quickly become the top-drawing band in their hometown of Myrtle Beach, SC, but they are also recognized as one of the most popular and versatile beach & shag bands touring the Southeast.

June 14 Farmer’s Market (4 -7 p.m.), corner of Dale Earnhardt Blvd. and Vance Ave.


June 16 Concerts in the Park (7 p.m.) – Clay Walker, Village Park

He first topped the Billboard country singles chart in 1993 with “What’s It to You” and followed with his second consecutive No. 1 hit, “Live Until I Die.” Since then he’s placed 31 titles on Billboard’s singles chart including such additional chart toppers as “Dreaming with my Eyes Open,” “If I Could Make Living,” “This Woman and This Man,” and “Rumor Has It.”


Darrell Harwood is opening for Clay Walker beginning at 7 p.m.

Darrell Harwood is a natural born entertainer. After this single benefit concert, it became evident that Darrell was meant to perform. He is your average everyday working man who happens to be an extremely talented singer and high energy entertainer. His personal work ethic and integrity spill over into his music, allowing him to connect with his fans in a very special way. His magnetic personality and easy going ways draw people into his performances.

Free Admission. Children 18 & under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. No pets or smoking please. Concessions available.
