The City of Kannapolis, the North Carolina Research Campus (NCRC) and Rowan Cabarrus Community College hosted the Global Vision Leaders today. The Global Vision Leaders group includes international and national business leaders who are focused on developing business opportunities for the state of North Carolina.
Kannapolis Mayor Darrell Hinnant addressed the group and said, “I believe that the vision we have for Kannapolis fits right in with the mission of many of the groups you all represent – to grow the region economically through international trade, workforce development, and building community assets. We have stable and business-oriented elected officials here in Kannapolis and in our county. We are working very hard with all of our partners, especially those in higher education as you will see during this event, to make investments and position this area for economic growth. We look forward to collaborating with you.”
During their meeting with leaders from the host organizations, the group of over 100 received information on the opportunities for partnerships with the North Carolina Research Campus, the City’s Downtown Revitalization Project, and the new Advanced Technology Center to be built by the Rowan Cabarrus Community College on the NCRC campus.
Representatives of Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina and the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation were also on hand to discuss resources and assets available to recruit and grow companies in Kannapolis and Cabarrus County.
